We are currently recruiting a permanent Children’s Home Deputy Manager on behalf of Compass Community for their therapeutic home in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker ready to step up, or an existing Deputy Manager looking to sharpen their leadership skills within a highly progressive, expanding network.

## The Role & Leadership Impact

As the Deputy Manager, you will work side-by-side with the Registered Manager, acting as a crucial pillar of support to deliver high-quality, child-centred care. You will use your professional insight to safeguard young people, build positive relationships, and guide the wider staff team.

Your Core Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Operations: Take charge of staff supervisions, lead shifts, design balanced staff rotas, and facilitate collaborative team meetings.
Care Quality Assurance: Ensure that all individualized placement plans are strictly followed and that the young people's educational goals are continuously advocated for.
Compliance & Safety: Review, update, and adhere to essential residential policies, therapeutic procedures, and comprehensive risk assessments.
Culture Modeling: Act as a thoughtful, emotionally intelligent role model for both the young people in our care and the support workers on your team.

## Who We Are Looking For (Candidate Profile)

We are seeking a determined, resilient, and compliant professional who possesses a deep operational understanding of the children's residential sector.

Requirements:

Age Requirement: Must be 22 years of age or older (to comply with standard Ofsted regulations).
Qualifications: Must hold the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working directly with young people within a Residential Childcare environment.
Licence: A valid, manual UK driving licence is essential.
