We are currently recruiting on behalf of The Oakleaf Group, a leading name in neuro-rehabilitation, for a full-time Painter & Decorator to maintain their exceptional Hilltop House site in Hartwell, Northampton—currently rated Outstanding by the CQC.

The Oakleaf Group provides specialized care and intensive rehabilitation for men with acquired brain injuries and long-term neurological conditions. In this role, your craftsmanship will directly impact the well-being of the residents, creating a fresh, warm, and uplifting environment where they can safely undergo rehabilitation. If you are an experienced painter with an eye for detail, excellent time management skills, and a respectful approach, this stable Monday-to-Friday role is an ideal fit.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for executing high-quality interior and exterior painting services across the site, ensuring all projects are completed safely and professionally:

Surface Preparation: Sanding, scraping, washing, and filling holes or cracks to create smooth, flawless surfaces prior to paint application.
Finish Application: Professionally applying paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes to internal walls, ceilings, doors, and trim, as well as handling outdoor structures.
Site Maintenance & Cleanliness: Keeping all tools and equipment in peak condition and ensuring work areas are kept tidy and safe during and after project completion.
Team Collaboration: Coordinating and communicating effectively with other on-site maintenance trades and contractors to hit deadlines smoothly.
Health & Safety: Performing all duties in strict compliance with commercial facility health, safety, and infection control regulations.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an organized, independent tradesperson who takes immense pride in their work and is comfortable working within a residential care setting.

Experience: Previous commercial or professional painting and decorating experience is essential. A proven track record within a healthcare or care sector environment is highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of various painting techniques, materials, textures, and site-specific equipment (full training on specialized equipment will be given).
Core Strengths: Sharp attention to detail, exceptional time management skills, and the ability to self-manage and prioritize workloads.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, showing respect for the residents' living spaces.
