Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Priory Hospital Hazelwood House to recruit observant, compassionate, and dedicated permanent Healthcare Assistants (HCAs).

Located in the pleasant village of Heath, near Chesterfield, Hazelwood House is a highly specialized, 12-bedded low secure unit for adult males managing complex mental health needs. The hospital provides crucial care and pathways for individuals who have a learning disability, complex clinical needs, and/or are on the autism spectrum—even offering advanced WAIS and ADOS clinical assessments for patients awaiting an NHS diagnosis.

## What You’ll Be Doing

You will join a deeply compassionate ward team committed to patient rehabilitation and wellbeing. Working alongside qualified nurses and clinical specialists, you will play a hands-on role in patient recovery by:

Care Plan Delivery: Assisting qualified staff with the practical implementation of individual care plans, guiding patients through therapeutic routines, and safeguarding their dignity.
Responsive Personal Support: Providing respectful and practical assistance to patients with daily intimate care needs, such as dressing, bathing, and toileting, in strict compliance with healthcare legislation.
Vigilant Care Monitoring: Observing and monitoring the physical, mental, and emotional changes in patients—ensuring any unusual occurrences are promptly documented and communicated to the primary nurse or senior staff.
Communication & Rapport: Exchanging routine information clearly and warmly with staff, patients, and ward visitors both in person and over the telephone.

## What You’ll Bring to the Role

Our work is profoundly life-changing but can be challenging, making personal resilience and natural empathy your most valuable assets on the ward. No two days are the same!

Experience: No specific prior experience in care is required. We provide full, comprehensive training and induction.
Education: Educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or GCSEs in Mathematics and English, with basic IT literacy.
Core Qualities: Exceptional listening and observational skills are key to tracking patient wellbeing. You must deeply value and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
