About the Role

Supportive Bridge is recruiting on behalf of Elysium Healthcare for a Cook Manager to join Rosebank House in Reading, Berkshire, UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced catering professional to lead kitchen operations in a specialist mental health service. Working 37.5 hours per week, you will prepare nutritious meals for service users, staff, and visitors while managing kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and creating healthy, high-quality menus in a supportive healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and catering service.
Prepare, plan and cook nutritious meals to a consistently high standard.
Develop menus that promote healthy eating and meet dietary requirements.
Oversee food ordering, stock rotation and inventory management.
Maintain food cost control and budget management.
Cater for events and special occasions throughout the year.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
Maintain accurate food safety records and documentation.
Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff.
Deliver excellent customer service to service users, staff and visitors.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
GCSE or equivalent in English.
Basic Food Hygiene certificate (essential).
Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification (desirable).
Previous experience in a similar catering environment.
Previous kitchen management experience.
Experience with menu planning, stock control and budgeting.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
