Location: Mill Court Care Home, Christmas Hill, Guildford, GU4 8HN

Pay Rate: £20.19 per hour

Contract Type: Bank (Casual, flexible hours to cover as and when needed)

Shift Pattern: Days (with alternate weekends)

Closing Date: 2 September 2026

About the Role

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh, seasonal food while enjoying a better work-life balance? As a Bank Chef at Mill Court Care Home, you will help deliver hotel and restaurant-standard dining without the exhausting split shifts and long working weeks.

Working alongside the Head Chef, you will create nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, collaborating directly with residents to tailor meals to their preferences. You will also help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, complete regular audits, manage stock control, and help lead and motivate the catering team.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for warm, motivated, and passionate chefs who take pride in high standards and person-centred hospitality:

Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent certifications.
Experience: Proven experience working with fresh, seasonal food, understanding HACCP, and helping lead or inspire a team.
Personable Approach: A warm, welcoming nature with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing.
