- Days: 07:30 – 19:45
- Nights: 19:30 – 08:00
Rota Schedule: 2 weeks on day shifts, followed by 2 weeks on night shifts.
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday (4 days)
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (3 days)

Located in Heath, Derbyshire (near Chesterfield), Hazelwood House is a specialized low secure unit for male patients with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, alongside complex needs such as autism and mental health requirements. The hospital is deeply committed to delivering clinically effective, evidence-based treatment programs within a safe, therapeutic, and secure environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary, compassionate team, you will play a vital role in our patients' rehabilitation, safety, and long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Care Plan Assistance: Support qualified nursing staff with the daily implementation and assessment of individual patient care plans.
Personal & Dignified Care: Provide responsive, practical assistance with intimate personal needs (such as bathing, dressing, and toileting) in strict compliance with healthcare legislation.
Patient Monitoring: Observe patient wellbeing closely, ensuring any unusual physical, mental, or emotional changes are promptly reported to senior staff and accurately documented.
Clinical Interventions: Following training, conduct specific delegated tasks such as active patient engagement, observation, escorting patients on community leave, and assisting with de-escalation management.
Ward Operations: Maintain ward cleanliness, adhere strictly to infection control protocols, assist with stock levels (including pharmaceutical products), and greet visitors warmly.

While a healthcare qualification is desirable, it is not essential. We place the highest value on your attitude, personal attributes, and willingness to learn.
