About Apple Mews Care Home

Located in the historic city of Armagh, Apple Mews offers vital residential and nursing support for 30 adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, physical health needs, and autism. The dedicated onsite team focuses on creating a safe, homely, and uplifting environment that empowers everyone to live as independently as possible.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker, you will be part of a close-knit team committed to our residents' physical and emotional wellbeing. You will deliver personalized, day-to-day practical and emotional support, helping residents move forward with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

Personalized Care: Support residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, and dignity preservation.
Daily Living & Comfort: Perform light housekeeping tasks like dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes to maintain a welcoming environment.
Mobility Support: Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of individuals.
Healthcare & Progress: Monitor and record physical and emotional wellbeing, quickly reporting any changes to senior staff, and providing support to attend medical appointments.
Social Engagement: Encourage and accompany residents to participate in fun social and recreational activities.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

While previous experience in a similar role is highly valuable, it isn’t everything! We are looking for individuals who display the right values, a keen willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for making a difference.

Traits: Natural empathy, patience, understanding, and a friendly, positive approach.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when required.
Communication: Competent in verbal and written English to safely follow care policies and procedures.
Qualifications: A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential—comprehensive training is provided.
Requirements: Right to work in the UK.
