We are currently recruiting a passionate Residential Therapeutic Practitioner for our partner, Compass Community—a leading therapeutic organisation supporting nearly 2,000 children and young people across the UK.

Working as part of a specialist, multi-disciplinary Therapeutic Services team, you will help transform the lives of children affected by trauma in the Nottingham area. Your role will be to coach staff, embed trauma-informed practice, and facilitate reflective groups, bringing Compass’s evidence-based Assessing and Healing Complex Trauma (AHCT) approach to life across their residential homes.

What You Will Do

Coach & Develop: Guide, mentor, and upskill residential childcare staff to embed trauma-informed care into daily routines.
Embed Clinical Frameworks: Implement the AHCT approach and participate in developing therapeutic communities within the Community of Communities programme (under the guidance of the Royal College of Psychiatry in London).
Facilitate Growth: Lead reflective practice groups for staff teams to foster a culture of understanding, empathy, and resilience.
Nurture & Support: Help design and maintain therapeutic environments where vulnerable children can safely process trauma and thrive.

What You Will Bring

Experience: At least 2 years of experience working directly with children in care.
Knowledge: A deep, practical understanding of complex trauma, attachment theory, and child development.
Qualifications: Relevant therapeutic training or qualifications (or currently actively working towards them).
Attributes: A positive, resilient, and empathetic approach, alongside the confidence to guide and develop other professionals.
Mobility: A full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel between local services.
