About the Role

Woodhouse Hall, situated in a beautiful semi-rural location just off the main road between East Ardsley and Tingley in West Yorkshire, is looking to recruit a dedicated Bank Support Worker to join our team.

Our service offers specialist residential support for 19 adult males and females with a diverse range of needs. We care for individuals living with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism, and personality disorders. We are also fully equipped to support residents who face difficulties with communication, trauma, or mild-to-moderate behaviours that challenge.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Bank Support Worker, you will be a vital part of a compassionate team working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and the absolute wellbeing of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Person-Centred Care: Assist with personal care and daily living tasks tailored to the unique goals of each service user.
Key Working: Act as a key worker for individuals, helping them to set developmental goals, promote personal choice, and track their progress.
Community & Engagement: Encourage and assist residents with participating in social activities, hobbies, and local community life.
Care Documentation: Maintain high-quality, accurate records, including updating care plans, daily progress notes, and charts.
Relationship Building: Foster positive, trusting professional relationships with residents, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Safety & Innovation: Uphold strict safety, security, and confidentiality standards while proactively suggesting ways to continuously improve the service.

What You'll Bring to the Role

Supporting adults with complex needs and trauma histories is incredibly rewarding, but it requires emotional resilience and an empathetic approach. No two days are the same, and your natural empathy will help residents navigate their recovery journeys.

A caring, patient, and deeply respectful approach to supporting vulnerable adults.
The ability to work flexibly, adapt to shifting priorities, and think innovatively.
Strong communication skills to connect with residents, including those with communication difficulties.
A firm commitment to upholding professional standards, safety policies, and regulations.
Experience in care or support work is desirable, but not essential (full training is provided).
A full UK driving license held for a minimum of 3 years is desirable, but not essential.
