About the Opportunity

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Barchester Healthcare to source dedicated culinary professionals. We are currently recruiting a Second Chef for Bayleaf Care Home on a permanent, full-time basis.

In this role, you will have the chance to deliver hotel and restaurant standards using fresh seasonal food, while enjoying a healthy work-life balance. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, working directly with residents to tailor meals around their preferences and ensure person-centred hospitality.

What We Are Looking For (Need to Have)

Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent culinary qualifications.
Experience: Proven experience working with fresh, seasonal food and a good understanding of HACCP.
Knowledge: A solid understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements.
Attributes: A warm, personable approach with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing and the ability to create a welcoming, fun environment.

Key Responsibilities (Need to Do)

Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
Assist the Head Chef with menu development, budgeting, and stock control.
Prepare wholesome, high-quality dishes using fresh produce.
Complete regular audits and maintain top-tier kitchen standards.
