Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (24 hours per week + regular overtime)

About the Role

We are partnering with the Co-op to recruit an ambitious and community-focused Customer Team Leader for their fast-paced store in Houghton-le-Spring. This is a brilliant opportunity to lead a small team, help deliver essential services, and take the next step toward retail management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Shift: Own the day-to-day running of the store on your shift, setting the pace for a team of Customer Team Members on the shop floor and tills.
Coach & Motivate: Support, mentor, and inspire your team to deliver exceptional service and efficient store operations.
Store Performance: Maintain operational excellence through merchandising, stock accuracy, and basic HR processes.
Community & Membership: Champion the Co-op brand through local community engagement and membership growth.

What We Are Looking For

Age Requirement: Must be aged 18+ (to authorise age-related sales).
Experience: A genuine passion for people and leadership. While retail, merchandising, or team management experience is a bonus, it is not essential—full training is provided!
Flexibility: Working pattern features shifts between 5:45 AM to 2:30 PM or 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with flexible availability across the week including at least 1 weekend shift.
