Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is recruiting on behalf of Barnet Council for an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join their Adult Social Care & Health service on an as and when required basis.

This opportunity is ideal for a qualified AMHP seeking flexible work while supporting a well-established local authority in delivering high-quality mental health services.

About the Role

As an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), you will undertake statutory duties under the Mental Health Act, working collaboratively with health professionals, service users, carers, and partner agencies to ensure safe, person-centred outcomes.

This is a flexible, temporary position providing cover as required.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Mental Health Act assessments in accordance with relevant legislation.
Exercise statutory AMHP responsibilities professionally and independently.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including health and social care professionals.
Complete accurate, timely, and high-quality case records and reports.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and person-centred practice.

Essential Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
Current Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification.
Experience undertaking Mental Health Act assessments.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act and Care Act.
Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
