About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with a welcoming, community-focused food store in Torquay to recruit an enthusiastic Customer Team Member.

In this varied role, you will be the friendly face of the store, delivering exceptional customer service and playing a key part in making life easier for your local community. Whether you're assisting on the shop floor, working on tills, managing stock, or supporting our in-store bakery, no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service: Provide a friendly, helpful, and thoughtful shopping experience, putting customers first, responding to queries, and championing Co-op Membership.
In-Store Operations: Work hands-on on the shop floor, tills, and in-store bakery, keeping shelves stocked and maintaining store safety, pricing, dates, and compliance.
Team Collaboration: Work together with store colleagues to support smooth daily operations and solve problems.
Community Engagement: Get involved in local activities, events, and charity connections.

What We’re Looking For

Age Requirement: Must be aged 18 or over to apply for this role (due to working before 6 am, after 10 pm, or other business needs).
Experience: Formal retail experience is not essential—we provide full, paid training!
Attributes: A genuine passion for helping people, great people skills, a positive team-oriented approach, and the flexibility to work a range of shifts.
Working Flexibility: A mix of opening, closing, and mid-day shifts, with flexibility across the week including at least 2 evening shifts and 1 weekend shift (Friday after 6 PM, any shift on Saturday, or Sunday). Availability can be discussed further at interview.
