About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of one of our trusted healthcare partners for an experienced Charge Nurse (RMN or RNLD) to join a specialist mental health service in Warrington, UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nursing professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career. As a Charge Nurse, you will support the Ward Manager in leading a skilled nursing team while delivering exceptional care to adult women within secure mental health and psychiatric intensive care services.

You'll play a key role in promoting recovery-focused, person-centred care while helping to develop staff, maintain clinical excellence, and create a positive and supportive ward environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Charge Nurse (RMN or RNLD), you will:

Support the Ward Manager in leading and coordinating the nursing team.
Deliver high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care.
Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and supervision to nursing staff.
Promote recovery-focused, person-centred care for service users.
Monitor and maintain high clinical governance and quality standards.
Lead shifts and take responsibility for the ward in the Ward Manager's absence.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
Support staff development through training, coaching, and performance guidance.
Assist with ward budgets, operational planning, and on-call coordination.
Foster a positive, safe, and supportive working environment for staff and service users.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD).
Current NMC registration.
Relevant nursing qualification.
Previous leadership or senior nursing experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making abilities.
Commitment to delivering person-centred, evidence-based care.
Positive, compassionate, and professional approach.

Desirable

Experience within secure mental health, PICU, or forensic services.
Previous experience supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
