The Role

We are currently recruiting an experienced, target-driven Deputy Store Manager on behalf of our market-leading supermarket client (Aldi) in Bedford (Church Lane).

This role offers genuine responsibility and serves as the perfect stepping stone for experienced team leaders aspiring toward full store management. Working alongside the Store Manager, you will drive sales, optimize operational efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure exceptional customer service, stepping up to run the store in the absence of senior management.

Key Responsibilities

Store Leadership: Take full charge of store operations and team direction in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
Team Engagement & Performance: Support the Store Manager in training staff, boosting team morale, and driving store KPIs.
Customer Service Excellence: Maintain top-tier service standards that consistently exceed customer expectations.
Operational Control: Monitor product quality, oversee stock rotation, manage till cashing up, and handle safe deposits.
Safety & Compliance: Uphold rigorous Health & Safety guidelines and maintain strict due diligence standards.

Skills & Experience Required

Team Management: Proven experience leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced, customer-centric retail or operational setting.
Commercial Mindset: Strong skills in time management, cost control, and meeting challenging performance targets.
Compliance & Care: Deep commitment to exceptional customer service, safety standards, and operational due diligence.
Background: Previous Store Management experience is a bonus, but strong team leadership experience in a fast-paced environment is what counts most!
