About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant on behalf of one of our trusted healthcare partners in Warrington. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract offering an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Speech and Language Therapists within a specialist rehabilitation setting.

In this rewarding role, you will support adults with acquired brain injuries and complex mental health needs by delivering therapy programmes, assisting with communication and swallowing interventions, and helping patients achieve greater independence and improved quality of life.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will gain valuable experience while contributing to person-centred care and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you will:

Support qualified Speech and Language Therapists in delivering evidence-based therapy programmes.
Deliver one-to-one and group therapy sessions for individuals with communication and cognitive impairments.
Assist with evaluating and implementing individual treatment plans.
Conduct mealtime observations to support swallowing safety assessments.
Support patients with communication and swallowing difficulties during community activities.
Prepare personalised therapy resources and communication materials.
Demonstrate communication techniques and the use of communication aids to patients, families, and carers.
Collect, analyse, and maintain clinical audit and service data.
Provide administrative support to the Speech and Language Therapy team.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives and maintain accurate clinical records.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working within a healthcare, therapy, or care environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organisational abilities.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently while following professional guidance.
Understanding of confidentiality and professional standards.
Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that may challenge.
Willingness to learn and develop within a specialist therapy environment.

Desirable

Knowledge of communication disorders, swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), and cognitive impairments.
Experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries or mental health conditions.
Previous experience working within rehabilitation or therapy services.
