A Thriving Learning Space in a Historic Setting

You will be based at Millcourt School, an independent specialist day school located in Shelf, near Halifax. The school is beautifully housed within a meticulously refurbished historic mill building that has been transformed into a thriving, highly engaging educational environment.

Millcourt School meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Many of our pupils have a background of multiple school placements, but here, they are part of a school that simply "gets them" and is entirely committed to helping them achieve and succeed.

The Role: Get Out What You Put In

As a Teaching Assistant, you will do so much more than support lessons—you will be a consistent anchor, mentor, and advocate for our young people.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Empowering Learning: Helping children and young people with ASD and SEMH needs to engage with education, develop their unique abilities, and raise their self-esteem.
Classroom Partnership: Supporting the class teacher to deliver tailored lessons, keeping students focused, and navigating challenges with dedication and resilience.
Therapeutic Integration: Working closely with our on-site clinical therapists to implement holistic, trauma-informed support frameworks within the classroom.
