About the Role

Supportive Bridge is recruiting on behalf of Elysium Healthcare for a Second Chef to join the team at St Neots Neurological Centre in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef to work in a supportive healthcare environment, preparing high-quality meals for service users, staff and visitors. Working alongside the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the daily operation of the kitchen while contributing creative ideas for menus and special events. Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals to a consistently high standard.
Plan menus while considering dietary requirements and special requests.
Maintain food storage, stock rotation and inventory control.
Assist with food costing, ordering and budget management.
Prepare catering for conferences, events and special occasions.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety regulations.
Maintain accurate kitchen records, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
Provide guidance and support to other kitchen team members.
Deliver excellent customer service to service users, staff and visitors.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
GCSE or equivalent in English.
City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 (or equivalent) in Food Preparation and Cooking.
Basic Food Hygiene certification (essential).
Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification (desirable).
Previous experience in a similar catering or hospitality environment.
Experience with menu planning, stock control and budgeting.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
