About Strathmore House

Nestled in the beautiful area of Dresden, Stoke-on-Trent—directly opposite the scenic lakes and café of Queens Park and close to Trentham Gardens—Strathmore House is a vibrant residential home. We offer dedicated support for 14 male and female residents who are autistic or have a learning disability.

Our team is passionate about delivering a personalized approach, using proven therapies to help our residents build independence, confidence, and live a happy, healthy, and fulfilled life.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker, you will be a key part of a compassionate team committed to our residents' daily wellbeing, dignity, and recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Personalised Care & Daily Living: Ensuring residents' personal needs are fully met, including assisting with personal care, facilitating daily living tasks, and encouraging participation in activities to achieve their personal goals.
Administration & Care Planning: Completing accurate daily notes, updating person-centred care and support plans, and keeping resident charts thoroughly updated.
Relationship Building: Maintaining professional relationships and a warm rapport with residents, their families, visitors, and your team members.
Safety & Compliance: Adhering strictly to company policies and procedures to uphold the highest standards of safety, security, and confidentiality.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Because no two days are the same, supporting adults with learning disabilities requires a highly resilient and deeply empathetic individual.

Requirements:

Qualifications: Ideally holds an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or related field) and GCSEs/NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.
If you don't hold an NVQ Level 2 yet, don't worry! You will just be expected to begin the process of attaining it within six months of joining.
Experience: Prior experience in a related environment is desirable but not essential—full training is provided.
Core Skills: Strong communication skills, great attention to detail for documentation, and a natural empathy to support others through life's highs and lows.
